Шановні учасники Форуму!

Для мене велика честь взяти участь у цій важливій зустрічі і я дякую за запрошення виступити перед вами сьогодні.

Чи ми втомлені? Так, ми втомлені війною та всіма тими стражданнями і викликами, які вона постійно приносить. Коли людина втомлена, то чого вона бажає? Вона бажає відпочити. Але не можна відпочивати тоді, коли тобі загрожує смертельна небезпека. А нам всім справді загрожує така небезпека – не лише в Україні, але і в Європі та у світі.

І тому хоча ми втомлені, не можна просто припинити боротися проти агресії та сказати: «Це не моя боротьба». Коли ми згадаємо історію XX століття, то тут, у центрі мирної Праги, в столиці Чехії це особливо відчувається. Двічі протягом минулого століття у світі вирішували, що можливо зло буде задоволене, якщо йому чимось поступитися. У 1938 році та у 1968 році світ дозволив злу безкарно чинити агресію проти цієї країни. Але коли зло не зупиняти і не карати – воно лише примножується, бажаючи заповнити собою весь можливий простір.

Наше спільне завдання – зупинити зло, не дозволити ідеології «русского міра» та кремлівській диктатурі знову розділити світ, знову встановити у Європі «залізну завісу». І завдяки об’єднанню зусиль демократичних країн та всіх людей доброї волі ми можемо зробити це.

Як Митрополит і Предстоятель Православної Церкви України я можу засвідчити: у цій боротьбі зі злом, яке несе ідеологія «русского міра» та кремлівська диктатура, на боці України правда. А там де правда – там Бог. А де Бог – там перемога.

На початку великого вторгнення у лютому 2022 року і вороги, і навіть друзі України думали, що ми не витримаємо і впадемо перед агресією зла. Але ми боремося і будемо боротися. Бо ми боремося за правду, за гідність, за майбутнє, за саме життя. І український народ показав, що він здатен протистояти кремлівському Голіафу та перемагати його.

Але нам потрібна вся можлива допомога, і вона потрібна зараз. Мир не настане сам собою – за нього потрібно боротися. Freedom is not free (Свобода не отримується задарма). Допоможіть нам зберегти свободу – і тоді Європа залишиться свобідною, а не опиниться розділеною та під загрозою тиранії зла, як це ставалося не раз у минулому столітті.

Переконаний, що тут сьогодні зібралися ті, хто розуміють все це, хто поділяють біль України та поділяють наше прагнення зупинити зло «русского міра». Повірте – це можливо. Зло можна і потрібно перемагати, але досягти цього можна лише спільними зусиллями.

Так, ми втомлені – але не втратили віри в перемогу. Ми втомлені – але ми залишаємося рішуче налаштованими захищати правду і свободу. Ми втомлені – але ми не маємо дозволити нікому розділити Європу та знову, як було в минулому столітті, сіяти терор і смерть на просторі від Північного до Середземного морів.

Бажаю Божого благословення і успіху для всіх нас. Правда переможе! Дякую за увагу.

Dear Forum Participants,

It is a great honor for me to take part in this important gathering, and I thank you for the invitation to address you today.

Are we tired? Yes, we are weary — of the war and of all the suffering and challenges it constantly brings. And when a person is tired, what do they desire? They wish to rest. But one cannot rest when faced with mortal danger. And such danger truly threatens all of us — not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe and around the world.

And so, although we are tired, we cannot simply cease resisting aggression and say, “This is not my fight.” When we recall the history of the twentieth century, this truth resonates especially here, in the heart of peaceful Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Twice in the last century, the world decided that perhaps evil would be satisfied if it were granted concessions. In 1938 and again in 1968, the world allowed evil to commit aggression against this country with impunity. But when evil is neither stopped nor punished, it only multiplies, seeking to fill all the space it can reach.

Our common task is to stop evil — to prevent the ideology of the “Russkiy Mir” and the Kremlin dictatorship from once again dividing the world, from restoring an “Iron Curtain” in Europe. And through the united efforts of democratic nations and all people of good will, we can achieve this.

As Metropolitan and Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, I can testify: in this struggle against the evil brought by the ideology of the “Russkiy Mir” and the Kremlin dictatorship, the truth is on Ukraine’s side. And where there is truth — there is God. And where God is — there is victory.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, both our enemies and even some friends of Ukraine thought we would not withstand it and would fall before the aggression of evil. But we are fighting and will continue to fight. Because we fight for truth, for dignity, for the future, for life itself. And the Ukrainian people have shown that they are capable of standing up to the Kremlin’s Goliath — and defeating him.

But we need every possible assistance — and we need it now. Peace will not come on its own; it must be fought for. Freedom is not free. Help us preserve freedom, and Europe will remain free — rather than once again become divided and threatened by the tyranny of evil, as has happened more than once in the last century.

I am convinced that those gathered here today understand this deeply You share Ukraine’s pain and our determination to stop the evil of the “Russkiy Mir.” Believe me — this is possible. Evil can and must be defeated, but it can be achieved only through our common efforts.

Yes, we are weary — but we have not lost faith in victory. We are weary — but we remain firmly committed to defending truth and freedom. We are weary — but we must not allow anyone to divide Europe and once again, as in the last century, to sow terror and death across the lands from the North Sea to the Mediterranean.

I wish God’s blessing and success for all of us. Truth will prevail! Thank you for your attention.
